16 days, 7.500 km, a full circle around the Baltic Sea, in a 39 years old Wartburg, no GPS, no highways
- our adventure Baltic Sea Circle 2019 -
Welcome on board, we are happy you found the way to our website.
On the following pages we are going to present you an overview of us and our adventure. If you would like to get more in-depth information about a specific topic feel free to use the tabs above.
We hope you'll have a lot of fun!
We would be happy if you would help us to gather money for the two charity projects we decided to support with our adventure to make the world a slightly better place!
For a good cause...
We are collecting donations for charity projects.
Tierhilfe Zella-Mehlis e.V.
The non-profit organisation "Tierhilfe Zella-Mehlis e.V." provides an animal shelter in Zella-Mehlis, Thuringia (the region where Hannes and Christian grew up). The organisation takes care of homeless and seized animals and tries to find new caring and loving owners for each of the animals.
Saalfeld Samaipata e.V.
Saalfeld Samaipata is a local German non profit organisation which supports local Bolivian non profit organisation in fighting hunger, drug abuse and impoverishment of orphans and street children. Bolivia is the poorest country in South America and one of the poorest contries worldwide, but does not much attention in the (at least German) public. Saalfeld Samaipata focuses their support on sustainable projects where help for self-help is paramount.
More information about the two projects and our reasons to support them can be found on our Charity-page.
... because it's not only about the adventure!
The money will be transfered one to one to the two charity projects mentioned below!
We will pay for the journey by ourselfes.

The Roadbook awaits you and your team, filled with great suggestions for your trip in addition to cool challenges and opportunities for extra fun.
The activities and tips in the Roadbook are just a bonus, not mandatory!
The conditions of the roadways can vary considerably during the rally:
from straight asphalt lanes through marvellous Scandinavian forests,
to dirt roads to the glacier top, through to the Russian “slalom pothole roulette”…
Anything’s possible and there’s a little something for everyone!
During the day in a very confined space within the car and during the night in a tent there is not much room for privacy. A roadtrip as far north as the North Cape, a sun that never sets, Russian streets and more unknown adventures.
This is only possible with a harmonious and loyal team.
We are connected through our time together at middle- and highschool in Zella-Mehlis (Thuringia) in the green heart of Germany. A lot of years have passed since then, but our friendship prevailed not withstanding the huge geographical distance which is now between us.
Christian is a PhD student at the Centre for Biorobotics at the Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia.
Hannes ended up in Giengen in the vicinity of Ulm, where he is working as a logistics manager for a German household appliance manufacturer.
The distance of around 1800 km between Tallinn and Giengen requires some creativity regarding the logistics and planning of our adventure.
